Incest survivor and victim advocate, Suzanne Connolly, fought for over 30 years to get her abuser father jailed for the rape and sexual assault of her in the family context on an almost daily basis over a period of 4 years, starting when she was 10 years old. He was jailed for an effective term of 2.5 years this year. Waiving anonymity, Suzanne has called for changes to the system that took over 30 years for a conviction, despite her father admitting the abuse over 30 years ago to her social worker and to her mother, and her returning repeatedly to make police statements to push for justice.
Suzanne has a law degree from Brunel University, London, England, a Masters in Equality Studies, from UCD, Dublin, Ireland, and a Masters in Writing from Warwick University, Coventry, England.
She was a news journalist for over 10 years with the national press in Ireland before moving to the United States for over 10 years, where she trained in her current profession as an alternative medicine practitioner. She treats clients from all over the world and now lives in Dublin, Ireland, with her loving husband and their adorable 3 year old son.
