Marai is the Executive Director of Imkaan and Co-Chair of the End Violence Against Women Coalition. Her ending violence against women and girls work has spanned over two decades at both operational and strategic levels; and she has developed and led cutting edge services which address violence against minoritised / marginalised women and girls. Her activism, advocacy and teaching have been framed by alliances with other Black and Indigenous feminist activists and practitioners. She has produced papers for, and delivered presentations to a range of audiences in the UK and internationally, and her work has appeared in a number of publications.
