Author and Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, Bronwyn’s work on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, militarization and the State is well-known internationally, and she has published widely on sites as diverse as France, Australia, the Philippines, Argentina, Tunisia and Turkey. Her contributing-coedited anthology September 11, 2001: Feminist Perspectives was celebrated in 2011 as a “feminist classic” and her book Hijab and the Republic: Uncovering the French Headscarf Debate was recommended as “outstanding” by the American Library Association. In 2015, she received the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques in the French government’s yearly honours list.
