Aims of Organisation:
The aim of Cuanlee is to provide a safe environment for women
and children victims of domestic violence where individualised
care and support is offered.
Cuanlee functions as part of a community network of care and
so liaises with personnel within Social Services, Social Welfare
Services, Public Health Services, Legal Aid, Gardai, Schools,
Counselling Services, M.O.V.E., Men’s Project, A.A.,
I.S.P.C.C., Corporation and other refuges.
Origins of referrals vary from that of self referrals to those
sent by other agencies such as Gardai, Social Services, Legal
Aid and other refuges.
Cuanlee Refuge provides a service not only to those families
within urban and rural Cork, but also nationally.
Cuanlee Refuge consists of self-contained family units, relaxation
areas including women’s lounge and smoking room, laundry
facilities, staff accommodation, playroom and outdoor play
facilities. Cuanlee has a total of 30 bed spaces (including
pull-out beds) and 6 cots.
